TRW Wins $73 Million Fort Lee Contract.

) began work Oct. 1 on a $72.9 million contract to provide technical support and computer programming services for the U.S. Army Information Systems Software Development Center at Fort Lee, near Richmond, Va. The contracting agency is the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command, Acquisition Center, Ft. Monmouth, N.J.

The five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract is TRW's "first major contract in Army logistics technical and service support," said Jack Distaso, vice president of military and tactical systems and telecommunications, TRW Systems Integration Group. The contract involves supporting approximately 30 Standard Army Management Information Systems, such as supply, maintenance, and order entry.

TRW brings its extensive experience in combat service support on other Army programs to this contract. As prime contractor, TRW will be responsible for program management, software development and maintenance, and systems integration. Technical support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  such as training, fielding, and testing will be provided by TRW's teammates. The TRW team will be staffing up for this project and anticipates having more than 150 employees by January 1998.
