: TRW) today announced the availability of MARC(tm)-LS EXPERT, a fully configurable and extensible version of the MARC labor standards module.

) complementary product that offers a total solution for discrete engineered labor standards, employee reporting, and time and attendance.

Built with a knowledge server, the product is a rules-based labor standards module with methods and filters that facilitate greater flexibility in configuring a system's behavior. The rules mechanism enables a certified user or integrator to extend system functionality through the editing of rules and formulas. Users are able to track productivity for additional job functions by simply changing the system to meet their needs.

True stand-alone, real-time, labor management solutions, MARC-LS and MARC-LS EXPERT enable customers to collect data, conduct performance analysis and create data presentations for all warehouse management activities. The system provides customers with a bolt-on product that has the ability to interface with a variety of WMSs or to work in conjunction with TRW's MARC WMS packages and complementary logistics execution systems.

MARC-LS and MARC-LS EXPERT operate in a client-server environment with the client being Windows and Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). Available in separate client and server versions, it includes built-in networking and preemptive multitasking.  and the server operating under the Open-System Unix platform.
