) Operations and Logistics Center, located in Sierra Vista, Ariz., has been selected to receive its first James S. Cogswell Award for excellence in industrial security.

The Department of Defense "Cogswell Award" recognizes outstanding industry participation in the National Industrial Security Program. Since its inception in 1966, the Cogswell Award has been the most celebrated in the industrial security field. Less than one-half of 1 percent of eligible facilities are recognized annually for the excellence necessary to receive this award.

Because this award is based on very specific evaluation criteria, "achieving this honor requires a sustained level of excellence as well as the total team effort of top management, the security staff and the entire facility workforce," said TRW site manager Ron Kline. "I'm very proud of all our employees who make security a fundamental part of doing business."

Administered by the Defense Security Service, the selection process involves nomination by Industrial Security representatives, endorsement by the Field Office Chief and the Regional Director of Investigations, and reviews by the Director of Industrial Security, the Regional Director, and the Defense Security Service headquarters.

The awards will be presented on Sept. 29 by the American Society for Industrial Security during its annual seminar at the Las Vegas Convention Center The Las Vegas Convention Center is owned and operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and is located in Clark County, Nevada. It is one of the largest Convention centers in the world. At the end of 2004, the center had 3. . Other awardees include ITT ITT Initial Teacher Training (UK)
