TRUE BRIT OUR GUIDE TO ALL THINGS FROM ACROSS THE POND.

 British trappings they're used to?

They're not alone when it comes to leaving behind the uppercrust comforts of the homeland. Multitudes of British ex-pats already live in L.A., and the Beckhams' new address could have more Brits packing up for an expedition out west, suggests Lisa Powers, operations manager See datacenter manager.  of Ye Olde King's Head pub in Santa Monica Santa Monica (săn`tə mŏn`ĭkə), city (1990 pop. 86,905), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1886. Tourism and retailing are important, and the city has motion-picture, biotechnology, and software industries. .

"To be honest, with the exchange rate, it's a lot cheaper for the Brits to come over here, so it's opened up as a possibility for a vacation spot, and with David Beckham coming to town, that's another attraction," Powers says.

But there's a catch: Homesickness. With no Mark's & Spencer or Harrods department stores to turn to, where will longing Brits go to catch a fleeting taste of home?

Los Angeles is more Brit-friendly than one might think. These spots serve to remedy the pangs the Beckhams and other upscale transplants may experience; they're also great resources for Anglophile Angelenos looking to fake the London lifestyle.
