TRUCK HITS PIZZERIA; DRIVER HURT.

NORTH HILLS - A dairy truck hit a car and crashed into a Pizza Hut restaurant Tuesday night, critically injuring the truck driver, authorities said.

The truck swerved through some bushes, hit a telephone pole and hit a maroon maroon, term for a fugitive slave in the 17th and 18th cent. in the West Indies and Guiana, or for a descendant of such slaves. The cab of the truck smashed into the building and had to be pulled away before the critically injured driver could be freed, officials said.

``We couldn't get him out safely until removing the truck from the building,'' said Richard Kay, a battalion chief with the Los Angeles Fire Department The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), also known as the Los Angeles City Fire Department to distinguish it from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. It is the agency that provides fire protection and emergency medical services for the city of Los Angeles. .

The truck went about four feet into the restaurant, but no one inside was injured.

Tereso Delosa, 12, of North Hills said he was sitting in the restaurant when the crash occurred.

``I heard a big noise,'' he said. ``The truck just ran into the pizza place.''

Before it hit the restaurant, the truck crushed the skateboard of Adrian Bernardo, 13, who jumped off when he saw the truck coming.
