TROLLEY TO GIVE FREE RIDES FOR LUNCH.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  -- The city's new red-and-green Hometown Trolley will start free lunchtime rides today to restaurants and shopping centers shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The modern shopping center differs from its antecedents—bazaars and marketplaces—in that the shops are usually amalgamated into  in Valencia.

Workers in the Valencia Industrial Center can flag down the trolley every 15 or 20 minutes from 10:30a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for rides to area restaurants and shopping centers.

The route will begin on Avenue Stanford at Technology Drive and travel along Avenue Hopkins and Rye Canyon Road to the eateries around Newhall Ranch Road and Copper Hill Road. The ride back is free, too.

From 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the trolley will provide transportation in and around the Westfield Valencia Town Center Westfield Valencia Town Center, formerly Valencia Town Center, is a shopping mall in Valencia, California, owned by The Westfield Group.
