TRITON TRANSPORT SERVICES, CLEVELAND-BASED, INTERMODAL TRUCKING FIRM, OPENS NASHVILLE TERMINAL, ITS 13TH IN EIGHT STATES

CLEVELAND, Aug. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Triton Transport Services, Inc., an intermodal trucker with a principal market in the Mid-South, has opened a terminal in Nashville, Tenn., its 13th in eight states.
"The new Nashville facility will enable us to meet growing customer needs in northern and eastern Tennessee and in southern Kentucky through the Memphis and St. Louis gateways," said Triton President Ted Price. "Triton is also providing local drayage in the Nashville market."
Added Price: "This will also make expanded service points possible from the various railroad ramps in Louisville and Nashville. As with all Triton terminals, we will provide 24-hour, seven-day-per-week service to meet customer needs."
The Nashville terminal (1227 Faydur Court, 800-366-2991) includes a lighted, fenced, and paved four-acre yard, with a 12 cross-door, enclosed dock.
Terminal manager is Rita Scott, a 15-year veteran of the industry, who had previously been with Triton in St. Louis.
She will oversee the work of three other employees and 12 owner- operators, said Mike Gelsinger, Triton's AVP, of operations.
"The Nashville terminal is a good fit, because in addition to supplying customers in the immediate area, it allows us to connect directly with Memphis and the 16-odd stack trains that arrive there every week," said Gelsinger.
Triton, an intermodal trucker (drayman), is one of the largest firms of its type in the Midwest, with corporate offices at 2701 Lakeside Ave., Cleveland.
The company, with 700 employees and associates, operates 500 power units and 13 terminals in eight states. Triton's principal markets are throughout the Ohio Valley, the Mid-South, and in the Dallas area.
