 TRINOVA'S AEROQUIP AND VICKERS
 WIN MAJOR FORD CONTRACT
 MAUMEE, Ohio, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) has awarded the Aeroquip and Vickers operations of TRINOVA Corporation (NYSE: TNV) a sole-source contract for all fluid power components and systems for machine tools used in the production of Ford's new V-6 engine at its Cleveland Engine Plant Two. The total value of the contract is approximately $10 million.
 The contract provides for Aeroquip to furnish all fittings, connectors and hoses, and for Vickers to supply all pumps, valves and hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders for engine production operations.
 Ford awarded the contract to Aeroquip and Vickers after more than a year of extensive supplier qualification studies which included facility visits and capabilities evaluations involving product design and reliability data, engineering support, training, service capabilities and quality assurance systems.
 Ford began planning the modular engine concept in the early 1980s. Cleveland Engine Plant Two is the second plant to build modular engines. Ford's Romeo (Mich.) Engine Plant currently produces the 4.6 liter modular V-8 engine and will soon begin production of the new 32- valve "Four Cam" 4.6 liter engine for the new Lincoln Mark VIII.
 Terms of the contract call for Aeroquip and Vickers to provide fluid power coms for industr7y. Its components and systems are sold through its operating companies, Aeroquip and Vickets, to the industrial, aerospace & defense and automotive markets.
