TRIBUTE TO A CAMERA BUFF AND HIS WORK.

 will be honored tonight with a tribute at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that includes a screening of his first short film, ``Tram,'' as well as ``Camera Buff,'' the 1979 feature that first made his name outside Poland. They will be shown at 7:30 p.m., followed by a panel discussion led by Annette Insdorf, a film professor at Columbia University Columbia University, mainly in New York City; founded 1754 as King's College by grant of King George II; first college in New York City, fifth oldest in the United States; one of the eight Ivy League institutions.  and an expert on Kieslowski.

The tribute is tied in with an academy exhibit of Polish film posters as well as a two-week retrospective of his early work at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, also known as LACMA, is the official and world-renowned art museum of the County of Los Angeles, California, located on Wilshire Boulevard along Museum Row in the Miracle Mile vicinity of Los Angeles. . It also coincides with a rare screening of his ``Decalogue'' film series at the Fine Arts Theatre The Arts Theatre is a small club theatre in London, England.

In August 1955, Peter Hall, aged 24, directed the English-language premiere of Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot at the theatre. This was an important turning point in modern theatre for Britain.
 in Beverly Hills, beginning Friday. Tickets for the Kieslowski tribute are $5 for the general public and $3 for academy members, and are available during business hours BUSINESS HOURS. The time of the day during which business is transacted. In respect to the time of presentment and demand of bills and notes, business hours generally range through the whole day down to the hours of rest in the evening, except when the paper is payable it a bank or by a  or after the doors open at 6:30 p.m. The academy is at 8949 Wilshire Blvd. in Beverly Hills.
