TRIBUTE HONORS MUSIC ICON ORIGINAL BANDMATES SHOW UP FOR A.V. The tribute was put together by Lou Allred and Peter ``Pete'' Lovio, who performed with Zappa while he was a student at Antelope Valley High School Antelope Valley High School is located in Lancaster, California and is part of the Antelope Valley Union High School District. Most of the old band members were not only friends of Zappa but also played with Don Van Vliet's ``Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band.'' Van Vliet also is a former Antelope Valley resident. The original Zappa and Beefheart members also represented local dance bands such as the Blackouts, the Omens and Geronimo Black, an off-shoot of the original Mothers of Invention.
