TRIARC COMPANIES IS NEW NAME FOR DWG CORPORATION

 WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Shareholders of DWG Corporation today approved a proposal to change the company's name to Triarc Companies, Inc.
 Nelson Peltz, chairman and chief executive officer, told shareholders at the annual meeting that the new name represented a "fresh start" for the company. "We believe that the name symbolizes a break from the past and a new beginning for our company," he said. Mr. Peltz and Peter May acquired a controlling interest in DWG from Victor Posner in April.
 At the meeting shareholders re-elected 12 directors who had been named in April upon the reconstitution of the board in connection with the change in control, and elected a new director, Gerald Tsai, Jr. Mr. Tsai is chairman and chief executive officer of Delta Life Corporation. Re-elected as directors were Mr. Peltz, Mr. May, Leon Kalvaria, Irving Mitchell Felt, Harold E. Kelley, Richard M. Kerger and Harold D. Kingsmore.
 Also re-elected were Daniel R. McCarthy, William L. Pallot, Thomas A. Prendergast, Martin Rosen and Stephen S. Weisglass.
 Shareholders also approved an amended and restated 1993 equity participation plan.
 Triarc (AMEX: DWG), a diversified company with sales in excess of $1 billion, is primarily involved in fast food (Arby's), soft drinks (Royal Crown Cola), textiles (Graniteville) and liquified petroleum gas (National Propane).
