TRIAL LAWYER'S LIST LACKS FACTUAL INFORMATION

NEW YORK, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- "Playmobil Pre-School 1-2-3 themed playsets meet or exceed all safety standards for children's toys established by the U.S. Government. That's no small undertaking since toys are one of the most regulated product categories in the country," says Playmobil USA president, Alan Hess, in response to what he said was "an erroneous press release on dangerous toys from The Institute for Injury Reduction, a front for the American Trial Lawyers Association." Playmobil has contacted their legal counsel and is pursuing this matter to the full extent of the law.
"How Playmobil Pre-School 1-2-3 made its way onto a list of dangerous toys clearly indicates an ulterior motive by the Institute that plays fast and loose with the facts," says Hess. Introduced into the United States market in 1991, Playmobil Pre-School 1-2-3 has been recognized by leading child-care experts, parenting publications, and the national media as one of the best products on the market for Pre-Schoolers.
Pre-school 1-2-3 has won the prestigious Parent's Choice Award and has been named a Top Toy for toddlers by Child Magazine, Parents Magazine, Parenting Magazine, CBS Television, Family Fun Magazine Working Mother Magazine, Smart Kids Magazine, and many others.
Playmobil Pre-School 1-2-3 playsets have no small parts that may be a choking hazard to a small child. All Pre-School 1-2-3 playsets are clearly labeled age 18 months and up. These are the facts which clearly contradict the information in the Institutes' release. Additionally, Playmobil Pre-School 1-2-3 has no hard edges or sharp corners that might cause an injury.
Says Hess, "We are appalled that the supposedly reputable American Trial Lawyers Association, an organization of court officers dedicated to finding the truth, can issue a press release through their organization that contains information that is blatantly false and libelous. We agree wholeheartedly that child safety and injury protection is an important issue. We go to great lengths to insure all of our toys are safe. We urge all consumers, however, to check the facts and examine the credentials of any one purported to be a child-care expert. Only then can you make an informed purchase decision."
