TRIAD REPORTS NO FUNDAMENTAL REASON FOR STOCK PRICE DECLINE

LIVERMORE, Calif., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Triad Systems Corp. (NASDAQ: TRSC) today said there is no fundamental reason for the recent, gradual decline in the trading price of its stock.
"Our results thus far in our fourth quarter are on target with our expectations," said Triad President and Chief Executive Officer James R. Porter. "Customers in both of our core markets are also reporting slightly improved business conditions in certain areas of the country."
Porter added that the company is very pleased with the automotive aftermarket's reception of Triad's new Prism(TM) business and information management system introduced in July.
"We initially anticipated shipping approximately 50 of the more powerful and flexible Prism systems in the current quarter, and have already surpassed that projection," Porter announced, adding that revenues from Triad's new service dealer operations are also meeting the company's expectations thus far in the fourth quarter.
Porter said Triad will introduce its new VISTA point of sale movement service at a major hardware show next week, creating what is expected to develop into a new source of data-related recurring revenues.
Triad's VISTA information service will provide hardgoods manufacturers with point of sale product movement data from the independent segment of the market.
"Independent dealers represent about two-thirds of the market," Porter said, "and about 3,500 of those outlets are Triad business and information management systems users. Our market presence and data- management expertise position us perfectly to provide manufacturers with the meaningful product movement information they do not have today.
"We've had excellent results in initial testing of the service, and manufacturers have shown a high level of interest in acquiring the data we compile. They see it as a valuable tool in developing marketing and promotional campaigns."
Triad creates business and information management solutions for the automotive aftermarket and the retail hardgoods industry, providing approximately 13,000 customers worldwide with automated efficiencies, comprehensive support and financing.
