TRESCA NAMED TO HEAD PRICE WATERHOUSE OFFICE IN KAZAKHSTAN

 ALMATY, Kazakhstan, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Price Waterhouse has appointed Fred M. Tresca Resident Partner and Director of Petroleum Services of Price Waterhouse Kazakhstan, effective Jan. 1, 1994.
 The announcement was made by Paul McMahon, Chief Executive PW's Eastern European Services.
 Price Waterhouse Kazakhstan provides tax, audit and accounting, registration, government advisory and information systems services to both local and multinational companies operating or planning to do business in Kazakhstan. Special emphasis of the office includes assistance to international oil and gas companies, suppliers to the petroleum industry and the banking and financial community.
 Bruce Edwards, Price Waterhouse partner responsible for business development in the former Soviet Union and central Europe who opened the Almaty office, continues his active involvement in the PW Kazakhstan practice. "With 20 staff permanently resident in Almaty under Fred's direction, Price Waterhouse has dedicated the resources necessary to serve our clients in the expanding Kazakhstan market," Edwards said.
 Tresca has been with Price Waterhouse 12 years, specializing in international and oil and gas taxation in the firm's World Petroleum Industry Group. Most recently, he has headed the firm's "CIS" (Confederation of Independent States, the former Soviet Union) desk in Houston. He is an accounting graduate of Florida State University.

 Carl Gage has assumed responsibility for the privatization and financial services group in PW's Almaty office. With 13 years of experience in banking and capital markets, Gage is an expert in commercialization of state companies, project financing and the telecommunications industry.
 Coskun Sen is a permanent resident in the Price Waterhouse Almaty office. Sen was formerly an audit senior manager for PW in Istanbul. He is an expert on international accounting standards, information technology and training for countries transforming to a market economy.
 Dr. Yermek Okaev has been appointed Manager of Tax in the PW Almaty office. Okaev is a graduate of the Kazakhstan Institute of Economics and has studied at the Iskra Business School in Tokyo. Okaev is a member of the Vice President's Council for Transformation of the Accounting System in Kazakhstan.
 Dr. Nikolai Guryev has joined Price Waterhouse as an auditor and Russian-Kazakhstani-English translator. He is a graduate of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and specializes in accounting and the technical translation of Kazakhstani laws and contracts.
