VALENCIA - Under the artistic direction of School of Dance dean Cristyne Lawson, the CalArts Dance Ensemble A group of dancers preforming under a common name: the dance equivalent of a band. ``Each year, the CalArts Dance Ensemble concert is an important event in that it continues the creative, collaborative and interdisciplinary processes that make CalArts so special,'' Lawson said.

Continuing the interdisciplinary tradition this year are special guest musicians, the Eroica Trio. Comprised of pianist Erika Nickrenz Erika Nickrenz is an American classical pianist best known as the pianist for the Eroica Trio.

Both her parents are professional musicians, her mother a pianist and her father a violist.
, violinist Adela Pena and cellist Sara Sant'Ambrogio Sara Sant'Ambrogio is an American cellist best known as a member of the Eroica Trio.

She was born in Boston and began her studies with her father, John Sant'Ambrogio, principal cellist with the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra.
, the trio will perform the music of Buxtehude, Loeillet, Lotti, Bach and Albinoni.

The Eroica Trio is considered to be among a new generation of artists changing the face of classical music. Whether playing the great piano standards or contemporary works, the trio brings technical skills, artistic interpretation and exuberance to the concert stage.

Lawson founded the Dance Ensemble two decades ago, and over the years it has commissioned various artists, collaborating with choreographers, dancers, designers, musicians and a substantial number of alumni.

This year's performers Williams and Tomayo are noted dancers and choreographers.

Tickets to the concert are $15 general admission, $3 for students and alumni, and $2 for seniors, and can be reserved by calling (661) 253-7800. CalArts is located at 24700 McBean Parkway, Valencia.
