TREE GIVEAWAY PROGRAM TO TAKE ROOT ON WEEKEND.

To officially kick off Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's Million Trees LA initiative, the city will give away trees at 16 locations from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. Saturday.

One tree per household will be given away. Available trees include the coast live oak, California Live Oak is the name of the following places in the U.S. state of California:
  • Live Oak, Santa Cruz County, California
  • Live Oak, Sutter County, California

 sycamore and Chinese flame tree.

People who take a tree must sign a pledge to plant the tree. They also must give their address so the city can confirm the planting and be included in the million tree count.

Trees will be given away at the following locations in the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.

Shadow Hills Presbyterian Church at 10158 Johanna Ave., Sunland.

Shadow Ranch Recreation Center at 22633 Vanowen St., West Hills.

Sun Valley Park Recreation Center at 8133 Vineland Ave., Sun Valley.

Ritchie Valens Ritchie Valens (born Ricardo Steven Valenzuela, May 13 1941 – February 3 1959) was a pioneer of rock and roll and a forefather to the Latin Rock movement. Career  Park at 10731 Laurel Canyon Laurel Canyon can refer to several things:
  • Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles, California, an area in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, CA
  • Laurel Canyon Boulevard, a street that connects the San Fernando Valley to Hollywood that passes through Laurel Canyon
 Blvd., Pacoima.
