Done in colored markers, pen and pencil, the drawings that went on display Friday were done as Levitt sat in a train station in Mexico, beside an Oregon beach or elsewhere his travels took him. ``I do it right on the spot. It varies from a half-hour to 1 1/2 hours. Sometimes I work on it after we leave: I'll think of something that will make it better,'' Levitt said. The exhibit title, Levitt said, was chosen because he liked the sound, but he says his drawings are ``a lot more complicated than doodles.'' Levitt has been involved in art since he was a teenager. His father was a Disney animator, from whom he learned a lot. The exhibit drawings date back to a 1987 trip Levitt took to Greece and Italy with an ex-roommate from college, before he was married. But most are from travel with his attorney wife Leah. Sometimes drawing on the spot means hurrying when the tour group leaves, but it also takes up time otherwise spent waiting for travel.
