The city of Lancaster The City of Lancaster (2002 population: 133,914) is a local government district with city status in Lancashire, England. Its main town is Lancaster, from which it obtained its city status. Other towns in the district include Morecambe, Heysham, Slyne, and Carnforth.  will celebrate California's state flower with its annual Poppy Festival from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Lancaster City Park, 43011 N. 10th St. West.

Cost is $4 for adults, $2 for seniors 62 and up and children ages 6 to 11. Children under 5 are admitted free. Free shuttle buses to the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve The Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve is a California wildlife reserve located in the rural westside of the Antelope Valley in northern Los Angeles County. You can mix a lot of art with a jaunt to Santa Barbara today through Sunday when the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum holds its annual ``Art About Town'' celebration.

Opening receptions will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at galleries throughout downtown Santa Barbara. Thirty artists' studios and 11 galleries will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, offering demonstrations in painting, sculpting sculpting Cosmetic surgery The surgical reshaping of a tissue. And from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, docents will conduct daylong bus tours featuring stops at a private art collection and various studios, topped off with a gourmet lunch. Share a muddy moment

By hand or with a brush, participants will apply mud and straw to the mission's historic adobe buildings, which date to the 1700s. The mud seals the adobe bricks and protects them from further deterioration due to the elements.
