Three- to six-day cruises along the Maine coast aboard turn-of-the-century tall ships are available at a 10 percent discount for those booking by April 1.

Maine Windjammer Association is offering the cruises between Memorial Day and Columbus Day for $270 to $650 per person, double occupancy, including all meals and activities. Participants are invited to help sail; evenings when the ship is at anchor, they can go ashore to explore tiny villages or hike on uninhabited islands. Information: [phone].

Ireland on the cheap: Through March 29, travelers can see the Real Ireland on the Trafalgar Tours trip of the same name starting at $1,050 per person, including air fare from New York. The tour includes three nights in Dublin, two nights in Sligo and two nights in Killarney with sightseeing in between on a nine-day itinerary. The Classic Pass allows passengers to travel in England consecutively for eight, 15 or 22 days or one month, boarding and disembarking as often as desired. Special winter rates range from $177.50 for eight days to $407.50 for one month, first class, and $124.50 for eight days to $282.50 for one month, standard class.

The BritRail Flexipass offers four, eight or 15 days of consecutive travel throughout England, Scotland and Wales. Prices range from $152.50 for four days to $329.50 for 15 days, first class, and $104.50 for four days to $229.50 for 15 days, standard class. All travel must be completed by March 15.
