Peru is possibly the most intriguing of all South American countries. Stunning vistas, superb cuisine and the warmth of the Peruvians will all combine to make this a truly memorable holiday.

Our tour begins in Lima, before a flight across the Andes. The Empire's spiritual home, the Urubamba Valley, is home to dominating fortresses, an Inca 'horticultural centre', and the Maras saltpans. We will spend two nights in the 'Sacred Valley'. Day four begins with a spectacular rail journey on board the Vistadome train, taking us to the breathtaking. 'Lost City of the Incas' - Machu Picchu. Nothing can prepare you for the sheer exhilaration felt as you approach this fascinating archaeological discovery. With a stay just below the site itself, you have plenty of time to explore this mystical Inca settlement. From here, we spend two nights in Cusco - the oldest inhabited city in the Americas. Day seven is free to explore its curious blend of old and new. The following day, we board the luxurious Orient-Express Andean Explore to travel to Lake Titicaca for a two-night stay. The panorama of Lake Titicaca, with the Andes as the backdrop, is truly stunning. We'll visit the famous floating Uros Islands and Taquile, constructed by the Indians using layers of reeds. We then fly to Lima where we will enjoy an overnight stay, with an included city tour and plenty of free time.

We arrive back in the UK on day twelve, after an incredible holiday.
