 TRANSTECHNOLOGY BOARD ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGES
 UNION, N.J., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- TransTechnology Corp.


(NYSE: TT) announced that its newly elected board of directors had, at its organizational board meeting held Saturday afternoon, elected Michael J. Berthelot to the positions of chairman and chief executive officer. Patrick K. Bolger was elected to the position of executive vice president and chief operating officer and Chandler F. Moisen was made senior vice president and chief financial officer. Valentina Doss was re-elected vice president of administration and secretary and Monica Eastes was elected assistant secretary.
 The Executive Committee was established with Berthelot as chairman and Messrs. Walter Belleville and Thomas V. Chema as its other two members. The Audit Committee, composed entirely of independent directors, is headed by James A. Lawrence, executive vice president of Pepsi-Cola International, with returning members Belleville and Richard J. Mascuch. The Nominating Committee is headed by Berthelot, with Messrs. Chema and Lawrence also serving. The Compensation and Incentives Committee, made up entirely of outside directors, will be chaired by Belleville with George S. Hofmeister and Dr. H. Gary Carlson also serving.
 The company announced last Friday that the slate of directors proposed by Berthelot had been elected at its annual meeting of shareholders on Sept. 23, 1992. Berthelot today stated, "Our entire management team is pleased to put this chapter behind us, and to focus all of our efforts on realizing the potential of our people and products. We are excited as we look to the future, and believe that these recent events, though painful, will truly mark the beginning of a new chapter in the company's history."
 TransTechnology is a diversified manufacturer of industrial and aerospace products headquartered in Union.
