 THIRD QUARTER AND NINE MONTH REVENUES; EARNINGS
 NORTH MIAMI, Fla., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Transmedia Network Inc. (NASDAQ: TMNI), which owns and markets a restaurant charge card offering 25 percent savings on meals, today announced record revenues, earnings and earnings per share for its third quarter and nine months ended June 30, 1992.
 For the third quarter, revenues were $7,420,621, earnings were $522,840, and earnings per share were $.14, compared to $3,835,479, $146,869, and $.04, respectively, for the same period in 1991.
 Revenues, earnings and earnings per share for the nine-month period were $18,465,481, $1,230,583, and $.33, respectively, compared to $9,584,762, $720,518, and $.20, respectively, for the same period in 1991.
 Net earnings and earnings per share for both the third quarter and nine-month period included effective tax rates of 44 percent compared to 63 percent and 26 percent, respectively, in the same periods a year ago. The 1991 rates reflected the final utilization of available net operating loss carryforwards which occurred in the third quarter of 1991.
 Total revenues for the third quarter included net sales of $6,759,179, compared to $3,598,238, membership and renewal fee income of $301,297, compared to $167,691, and initial and continuing franchise fee income of $360,145, compared to $69,550 in the third quarter of 1991.
 Included in revenues for the nine-month period were net sales of $17,138,776, membership and renewal fee income of $785,084, and initial and continuing franchise fee income of $541,621, compared to $9,064,061, $431,227, and $89,474, respectively, for the same period in 1991.
 Transmedia Network Inc., established in 1984, derives its income from membership fees and cardmembers' use of the Executive Savings Card which makes available to cardmembers food and beverage credits issued to the company by restaurants in return for cash advances used by these dining establishments for a wide variety of needs.
 More than 1,500 restaurants and 107,000 cardmembers have joined Transmedia's program to date. The company operates an executive office in New York, where it serves an expanding New York area market, and its headquarters are in North Miami, Fla., where Transmedia also runs its Cardmember Service Center and serves the Florida market. Franchised territories include (1) most of New Jersey; (2) Philadelphia and surrounding area, including Delaware, (3) Chicago and surrounding area; (4) Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, and (5) the state of California.
