TRANSFER TECHNOLOGY GROUP PLC. BUYS L. K. SUBSIDIARY FROM CINCINNATI MILACRON

CINCINNATI, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Cincinnati Milacron Inc. (NYSE: CMZ) announced today that Transfer Technology Group Plc., based in Birmingham, England, has purchased Milacron's L. K. business consisting of two wholly owned subsidiaries, L. K. Limited and L. K. Tool USA Inc. L. K. is a leading manufacturer of precision measuring equipment including coordinate measuring machines and ultrasonic inspection systems.
The purchase price was $5 million. Other terms of the transaction were not disclosed. In 1991, Milacron wrote down its L. K. investment to net realizable value and, as a result, the transaction will have no material effect on the company's financial results for 1993.
Transfer Technology said that L. K.'s business would further expand the range of products offered to its existing customers and introduce new customers to the group. The company said that the addition of L. K. to the group would lead to cost savings and that it expected L. K. to contribute to the group's results in the second half of the year.
 L. K. Limited in Derby, England, provides manufacturing, sales and service for European and worldwide operations. L. K. Tool USA in Detroit services the North American market, which represents 59 percent of total L. K. sales.
Cincinnati Milacron is a leading producer of machine tools, plastics processing equipment, computer controls, and industrial consumable products consisting of precision grinding wheels, metalworking fluids and Valenite cutting tools.
