DARIEN, Conn., April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Transact International Inc. (NASDAQ: TACT) announced today the signing of an agreement with TianDa Airport Support Ltd. for the production and marketing of Transact's aircraft container loaders by TianDa in the People's Republic of China. Value of the agreement, based upon sales projections developed by Transact, could well be in excess of $2 million.
TianDa, with facilities in Shekou, Shenzhen, GuangDong Province, People's Republic of China, is located in the greater Hong Kong perimeter area. The firm is a subsidiary of CIMC, China International Marine Container.
The agreement covers Transact's TA-15R Lower Lobe Aircraft Loader upgraded to represent the latest state-of-the-art. TianDa will have the rights to market the TA-15R Loader in the People's Republic of China, Asia and the Indian Sub-Continent, South East Asia, and other areas of Chinese influence, according to the announcement. Transact will continue to have marketing responsibility for those geographical areas not specifically reserved to TianDa.
The effective life of the agreement is ten years, with prototypes to be completed by TianDa in the Fall of this year, and testing completed by the end of the year. Actual production is scheduled for the Spring of 1994.
