TRAIN TOURS SCHEDULED FOR HOLIDAYS HISTORIC RAILWAY DECKS HALLS.

FILLMORE - With the holidays approaching, the Fillmore & Western Railway has decked the halls, vestibules and every shelf and ledge aboard its antique tourist trains in celebration of the season.

The following seasonal train rides are available during the months of November and December. Call (800) 524-2546 for reservations.

Weekend Scenic Excursions will take place Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 23, departing from Fillmore at noon and returning at 3 p.m. The three-hour round trip train ride through the beautiful citrus and avocado avocado (ä`vəkä`do, ăv`–), tropical American broad-leaved evergreen tree of the genus Persea of the family Lauraceae (laurel family).  groves of the Heritage Valley includes a one-hour layover lay·o·ver

Christmas Tree/Holiday Train will take place Saturdays and Sundays, Nov. 29 through Dec. 21, departing at 10 a.m. and returning at 2 p.m. Passengers will ride to the Christmas Tree Christmas tree

 Farm, select the perfect tree and bring it back on the train. Santa will be on the Holiday Train each weekend to hand out treats and visit with the children. The cost is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $10 for children 4 to 12 and $6 for infants to age 3.

The Santa Train is a ``thank you'' from Fillmore & Western Railway to the families and communities from Ventura to Fillmore. Santa will make his appearance from the porch of the 409, a stately business car from the early 20th century. The Santa Train will be making several stops starting at Montalvo, Saticoy, Santa Paula and Fillmore. During his stops, Santa will be passing out candy canes and Operation Lifesaver Operation Lifesaver is a 501(c)(3) educational organization in the United States dedicated to promoting safety at railroad grade crossings and railroad rights-of-way. , a train safety action book. Murder Mystery Dinner Train will take place Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 5 through 20, departing at 7 p.m. and returning at 10 p.m. This murder mystery train with the theme ``Bugle Boy Bugle Boy is a brand of pants popular in the 1980s founded by Dr. William Mow in 1977. It declared bankruptcy in 2001.

Bugle Boy featured men's and boys' clothing, often with a denim theme.
 Murders of Company C'' will make sure swing time is never the same as the train rides into murder and mayhem mayhem (mā`hĕm, mā`əm), in common law, the crime of willfully injuring a person so as to diminish his or her capacity for self-defense. . Antique Treasure Train will take place Dec. 11, departing at 12:30 p.m. and returning at approximately 4:30 p.m. Step aboard and take a trip back in time by riding a vintage train between two rural small towns in the Heritage Valley.  and rare collectibles. Designed for tour groups but open to individuals on a space-available basis. The cost is $44 per person.

Museum and Murals Tour will take place Dec. 11, departing at 12:30 p.m. and returning at approximately 4:30 p.m. After a hot lunch served on the trip to Santa Paula, passengers will be greeted by docents from the California Oil Museum for a tour of the museum, including the restored executive offices upstairs, followed by a short walking tour of Santa Paula's historic downtown. See murals depicting early life and business in the Heritage Valley. The cost is $49 per person.

New Year's Eve Celebration Train will take place Dec. 31, departing at 8 p.m. and returning at 1:30 a.m. New Year's Day New Year's Day, among ancient peoples the first day of the year frequently corresponded to the vernal or autumnal equinox, or to the summer or winter solstice.
