:A) today introduced a series of first-to-market, broadband microwave test accessories specifically optimized for communications and aerospace/defense applications. The innovations embedded in this industry-leading series provide broadband capability and enhanced measurement accuracy, which significantly expand the test and measurement capabilities in the communications and aerospace/defense industries.

Agilent's new series of microwave test accessories is comprised of a 67 GHz DC block, a 67 GHz fixed attenuator at·ten·u·a·tor
n.
A device that attenuates an electrical signal.

Noun 1. attenuator - an electrical device for attenuating the strength of an electrical signal
, a 50 GHz power limiter lim·it·er
n.
1. One that limits: a limiter of choices.

2. Electronics A circuit that prevents the amplitude of a waveform from exceeding a specified value. Also called clipper.
, and 50 GHz absorptive PIN diode SPDT SPDT Single Pole, Double Throw
SPDT Single Point Diamond Turning (precision lathe used in optical fabrication)

and SP4T SP4T Single-Pole Four-Throw (switch)  solid state switches. The N9398G DC Block provides excellent RF performance up to 67 GHz with greater than 15 dB return loss, 1 dB insertion loss and excellent temperature stability. This increases measurement accuracy while suppressing DC signals that can often times damage test instrumentation.

The Agilent 8490G precision fixed attenuator exhibits excellent attenuation Loss of signal power in a transmission.
Attenuation

The reduction in level of a transmitted quantity as a function of a parameter, usually distance. It is applied mainly to acoustic or electromagnetic waves and is expressed as the ratio of power densities.
accuracy and a low standing-wave-ratio of 1.45 GHz up to 67 GHz. It comes with six attenuation options: 3, 6, 10, 20, 30 and 40 dB.

The Agilent N9355F power limiter provides industry-leading broadband input protection from excess RF power, DC transients, electrostatic discharge and accidental power overloads for a variety of RF and microwave instruments and components. It has an integrated DC block at both input and output ports to block signals below 10 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  and pass signals up to 50 GHz.

Agilent's 50 GHz SPDT and SP4T solid state switches are characterized by high port-to-port isolation (above 90 dB) and a fast switching speed of less than 1 microsecond One millionth of a second. See space/time and ohnosecond.

(unit) microsecond - One millionth (10^-6) of a second.
. These switches are ideal for applications in communication, radar and antenna test systems that require high-speed microwave switching up to 50 GHz. Additionally, the absorptive characteristic of these switches provides good impedance matching, which increases measurement accuracy.

"As an industry leader and innovator in test and measurement solutions, Agilent is committed to fulfilling the need for the best RF performance across the widest frequency range," said Ee Keong Ban, general manager of Agilent's Electronics Measurement Group Test Accessory Operation. "That commitment is demonstrated today as we introduce these first-to-market test accessories, which will be key to ensuring today's engineers have the solutions they need to create the communications and aerospace/defense applications of tomorrow."
