TRACY'S TOT TOO 'UPSET' TO FILM CORRIE; EXCLUSIVE Madison, 2, quits as Amy.
CHILD actress Madison Hampson is quitting Coronation Street because her parents feel her role is too harrowing.
Some scenes starring Madison, two, as scheming Tracy Barlow's daughter Amy, were postponed because she got too upset. Now her parents fear the part and the workload are affecting her health.
Two-year-old Amber Chadwick is taking over and filmed her first scenes last week.
A TV spokesman said: "It was felt that Madison was perhaps doing too much and was becoming slightly restless and not enjoying things as she did when she first started.
"The decision to replace her was made with the full co-operation of her parents who were also concerned at her not enjoying things."
Madison had been doing more filming as she got older but it has taken its toll.
She was struck down with chicken pox in January and two days of scenes had to be quickly rescheduled.
She was getting more and more restless during intense scenes as Tracy (Kate Ford) plots to ensnare Charlie Stubbs (Bill Ward). An insider said: "When Amy was a real baby we used several tots to play her part but as she is getting older we wanted a bit more continuation."
There have been four Tracy Barlows so far and Kate is just signed up for another year.
