TRACOR TO DEVELOP NEXT-GENERATION FLARE UNDER $5.7 MILLION ARMY CONTRACT

 AUSTIN, Texas, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Tracor Aerospace, Inc. received a $5.7 million contract from the U.S. Army to develop a next-generation flare used to decoy heat-seeking missiles.
 The 52-month contract involves the development, testing, and manufacturing of the advanced infrared countermeasures decoy.
 "The new infrared decoy will be designed for use on board Army helicopters and aircraft to protect them from advanced guided missile threats," said George R. Melton, Tracor Aerospace president.
 Employees at the Expendables Division in San Ramon, Calif., will develop the infrared decoys.
 Tracor Aerospace is a subsidiary of Tracor, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTRR), which provides a broad range of technological products, systems, and services for diverse U.S. government, international, and commercial markets. In addition to providing advanced countermeasures and other electronics systems, the company is a major engineering and technical support contractor in communications, sonar, and other areas, and a comprehensive source for flight testing, specialized air crew training, and aircraft modification services.
