TRACOR RECEIVES INTERNATIONAL ORDERS FOR COUNTERMEASURES DISPENSER SYSTEMS

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 1 ~PRNewswire~ -- Tracor Aerospace, Inc. announced today it has received a contract not to exceed $5.7 million from the ALE-47 Joint Program Office for integration of AN~ALE-47 countermeasures dispenser systems into F-16 fighter aircraft for a foreign country. In addition, the company received a $1.3 million development contract from another overseas customer for an international version of the system.
The Tracor-developed systems are capable of dispensing chaff, flares, active radio-frequency decoys, and other expendables to provide protection against antiaircraft weapons. George R. Melton, Tracor Aerospace president, said, "This brings the total number of systems ordered to date to more than 500 for the U.S. Department of Defense and three foreign countries."
