TRACOR RECEIVES CONTRACT FOR NAVY AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL AND LANDING SYSTEM EQUIPMENT

 CALIFORNIA, Md., April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Tracor Applied Sciences, Inc. was awarded an $18.3 million contract (including options) by the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Md., to provide engineering and technical services to the Air Traffic Control Division, Naval Electronic Systems Engineering Activity, St. Inigoes, Md., in support of shipboard and shore-based Navy Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATC&LS).
 Under the contract which will extend for more than four years, Tracor Applied Sciences employees in the Electronic Systems Division headquartered in California, Md., will provide rapid response technical support to ships and shore installations worldwide; develop ATC&LS equipment and system improvements; provide integrated logistic support; and operate and maintain test beds. They will also repair and restore ATC&LS equipment; test various equipment to ensure operational readiness; and train maintenance personnel to improve proficiency and increase operational readiness.
