Hayward Field at University of Oregon is one of the most well-known historic track and field stadiums in the United States. It has been the home to the University of Oregon Track and Field teams since 1919.

Two weeks ago at the Pac-10 Championships, Knight had joined the Ducks for celebratory photos after Oregon had squeaked out a 114-111-110 victory over Arizona State and USC.

On Saturday, Knight stood gazing along the fence and watched as USC pulled out the victory with wins in the final two events, the 4x400 meter relay in 3minutes, 8.45 seconds and Noah Bryant's victory in the shot put (66feet, 5(bul) inches).

It was the Trojans' latest victory at Hayward Field, where they also won the 2001 NCAA women's championship, the 2005 NCAA men's regional title and the 2006 Pac-10 men's championship.

"We should have won the Pac-10, plain and simple," USC coach Ron Allice said. "We stubbed our toes, but we've had good fortune at Hayward Field, and it continued today."

USC also received wins from Lionel Larry in the 400 meters (45.59 seconds), Kai Kelley in the 110-meter hurdles (13.63) and in the 4x100 relay with a season-best 39.50.

, which finished fourth with 53(bul) points. The top five finishers in each event qualified for the NCAA Championships at Sacramento State on June 6-9 along with others who have attained qualifying standards and competed in the regional meet.

The USC women placed second to Pac-10 champion Arizona State 94-74. UCLA placed third with 67.

UCLA's Rhonda Watkins placed third in the high jump at 5-11(bul).

Alycia Johnson of Cal and Deanna Goodwin of Cal State Northridge were among the other women's winners. Johnson, a Canyon High graduate who won the NCAA Indoor 800 meter title in March, defeated defending national outdoor champion Rebekah Noble of Oregon, 3:02.12 to 2:04.95. Goodwin won the 400 in 53.56.
