TRACK AND FIELD: FOCUS IS NOW NATIONAL PRIMM, ANDERSON FACE TOUGH TESTS.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Half-miler Cory Primm of Westlake High and hurdler Jeshua Anderson of Taft High of Woodland Hills passed big tests to win state titles two weeks ago. The two seniors figure to face a bigger challenge in the Nike Outdoor Nationals today at North Carolina North Carolina, state in the SE United States. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean (E), South Carolina and Georgia (S), Tennessee (W), and Virginia (N). Facts and Figures

The UCLA-bound Primm, who won his second state 800-meter title in a row at the State meet in Sacramento on June 2, had been the national leader in the in the two-lap event for much of the season at 1:49.50. But East Forsyth High junior Dylan Ferris ran 1:49.27 last weekend to break the all-time North Carolina record and overtake o·ver·take

Anderson and Wyatt will run against an experienced field that includes the top five on the national yearly list, including Georgian William Wynne, a junior from McEachern of Powder Springs, who has the nation's fastest time at 51.65.

In the hammer, Chaminade of West Hills sophomore Conor McCullough, who holds the national ninth- and 10th-grade class records, will face national record holder Walter Henning of New York New York, state, United States
