TOYS R' US REPORTS 12.3 PERCENT INCREASE IN THIRD QUARTER SALES AND
                   10.2 PERCENT FOR FIRST NINE MONTHS
    PARAMUS, N.J., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Toys "R" Us, Inc. (NYSE: TOY), today reported that its net sales for the third quarter ended Nov. 2, 1991 were $1.182 billion, a 12.3 percent increase over the $1.053 billion reported for the third quarter of the prior year.  For the first nine months of 1991, net sales were $3.264 billion, a 10.2 percent increase over the $2.961 billion for the comparable nine months last year.  Comparable U.S. toy store sales were up 3.0 percent for the 13 weeks and were down 1.7 percent for the 39 weeks ended Nov. 2, 1991 and Nov. 3, 1991.
    Toys "R" Us is the world's largest toy specialty retail chain and by the end of 1991 will be operating 497 stores in the United States, 126 international toy stores and 189 Kids "R" Us children's clothing stores.
