The new site will be an integrated hub for polyurethane manufacturing and will also house production facilities for care chemicals and polymer dispersions for coatings and paper. Toyo-India will execute the project under an EPC turnkey contract at lump sum price (EPC-LSTK). The plant is expected to commence operations in 2014. The new production site at Dahej will ensure local supply of products and solutions for India's growing markets and will cater to industries such as appliances, footwear, automotive, building materials, adhesives, architectural coatings, paper and personal care, thereby contributing to BASF's business expansion in the northern and western regions of India. The polyurethane facility will produce thermoplastic polyurethane, microcellular polyurethane elastomers for automotive NVH NVH Noise, Vibration and Harshness NVH Nahverkehr Hohenlohekreis (German) NVH Noise Vibration and Harshness (noise, vibration and harshness) parts and polyurethane systems. The care chemicals facility will produce surfactants for home and personal care. The polymer dispersions facility will produce products for architectural coatings, construction materials and paper coating. Last year, Toyo-India was awarded a contract for the first large-scale synthetic rubber plant with annual production of 120,000 tons per annum in India for Indian Synthetic Rubber Limited as well as a synthetic rubber plant with annual production of 40,000 tons per annum for Reliance Industries Ltd.
