Most of the items were stolen out of the Antelope Valley, Lutz said.

It was about 10:30 p.m. when an officer spotted two vehicles on the shoulder of the northbound freeway just south of Escondido Canyon Road in Agua Dulce, Lutz said.

Ryan Costa, 30, of Palmdale, who was attempting to tow a car with his pickup truck, was on parole, allowing the officer to search both vehicles, Lutz said.

Costa, 30, who had been convicted of receiving stolen property, was arrested on suspicion of multiple counts of identity theft and held without bail.

His passenger, Palmdale resident Christina Calderon, 24, also was arrested and held on $20,000 bail.
