Goddard on safari: Anthropologist John Goddard will lead a safari through the game reserves of Kenya June 23-July 6.

Goddard, the first man to explore the length of the Nile and to follow the Congo River, will lead participants to the Masai Mara and Samburu Game Reserves to see zebra, wildebeest wildebeest: see gnu. , lions and giraffes. A visit will also be made to Lake Nakuru, known for its thousands of pink flamingoes.

Anasazi adventure: An exploration of the land and culture of the Kayenta, a branch of the Anasazi culture, will be featured on a trek through southern Utah and northern Arizona April 27-May 3.

Sponsored by Crow Canyon Archaeological Center in Colorado, the trip will feature hikes and horseback rides to remote areas, including an ancient rock shelter, a Hopi village (the Hopi people trace their ancestry to the Kayenta region) and a 35-room cliff dwelling shelter. Cost is $1,395 per person, double occupancy, and includes most meals, accommodations and transportation. Single supplement is $230. Air fare to Cortez, Colo., where the trip begins, is not included. Cost, which includes accommodations, most meals and sightseeing, is $2,180 per person, double occupancy, $2,900 single for 15 days; and $1,670 per person, double occupancy, $2,120 single for 10 days.
