The evolution of the battleship, from the ironclad warship of the mid-19th cent., received great impetus from the Civil War. It gives visitors a chance to search for up to 40 stations throughout the ship, where passport stamps are issued. Signs at each station provide information about its significance. The passport costs $1.95. The Battleship Missouri Memorial is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For self-guided tours, admission is $14 for adults, $7 for children ages 4 to 12 (3 and under free).
