Since then, Youth Against MS has achieved nonprofit status and raised more than $100,000. MS, a chronic disease that afflicts the central nervous system, usually strikes adults between the ages of 20 and 50. More than 400,000 Americans suffer from MS, which has no cure. Though early onset isn't common, about 30,000 kids have MS in the U.S. Youth Against MS is run by a board of directors, all teenagers, many of whom are college-bound in the fall. Kaley plans to step down from the board and continue in an advisory role in the fall. ``Having MS really has changed my life,'' Kaley says. ``Some people look at it as devastating dev·as·tate tr.v. dev·as·tat·ed, dev·as·tat·ing, dev·as·tates 1.
