, a leading Japanese toilet manufacturer, has developed a photocatalytic titanium dioxide particle that can be administered to the living organims safely, in collaboration with Yokohama City University Yokohama City University (横浜市立大学 Yokohama shiritsu daigaku .

In recent mice experiments, the joint company and university research group verified that the newly developed particle can exert an anti-cancer activity within an organism.

Specifically, when the photocatalytic titanium dioxide particles are inoculated in cancer tissues and then the tissues are exposed to an ultraviolet ray, the growth of cancer can be hindered compared to cancer tissues without inoculating the particles.

The newly developed particles use a titanium dioxide particle with a diameter of 50nm and are dispersed with polymer for inhibiting agglomeration ag·glom·er·a·tion
