Shafarman said the purchase lets the congregation know they've arrived. ``We were just thrilled to have our own home. Everyone approved of the building, and when the Torah was placed into the ark, there were a lot of tears,'' Shafarman said. As the procession of the scrolls reached its climax, members of the congregation sang the Shechecheyanu, a prayer that is often sung on happy occasions. The synagogue is scheduled to hold an open house for the Newhall community on Sept. 7 beginning at 11 a.m. at its new location, 23023 Hilse Lane.
