 TOP SPEAKERS CONFIRMED FOR IAA'S SEPTEMBER
 WORLD ADVERTISING CONGRESS IN BARCELONA
 BARCELONA, Spain, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading figures from the worlds of marketing, advertising and the media have confirmed that they will be speaking in "The Great Debate" at the International Advertising Association's bi-annual World Congress to be held in Barcelona, Sept. 27-30 this year.
 Among those are Michael Perry (newly appointed chairman of Unilever's operation worldwide), Phil Geier (chairman and CEO of the world's largest advertising agency group, Interpublic), British creative guru John Hegarty, Martin Sorrell (CEO of the J. Walter Thompson/O&M holding group, WPP), leading educationalist Professor Gordon Miracle from Michigan State University, Maurice Levy (chairman of leading European agency network Pubilcis FCB), Tatsuro Hasumi from leading Japanese agency Dentsu and Roger Neill (managing partner of the international management consultancy Synectics and current World President of IAA).
 Because the IAA embraces the global marketing communications industry, this event will provide an opportunity to include the full spectrum of professionals and skills. They will be coming from many countries and diverse markets to deal with the issues confronting the business.
 For three days, participants will examine, explore and debate issues, behavior, perceptions, patterns, legislation and more in a provocative format in which at least two opposing points of view will be presented.
 Under the patronage of King Juan Carlos of Spain, the World Congress will focus on three major areas and devote one full day of debates and concurrent sessions to each:
 Monday, Sept. 28: The value of advertising as the driving force behind all healthy economies and the enabling device of consumer choice and a free, independent media; the threats to the marketing communication industry all over the world;
 Tuesday, Sept. 29: Creative developments...what's hot and what's not;
 Wednesday, Sept. 30: Future structure of the marketing communications business through the 90s and into the next century.
 Registration is 125,000 pesetas (approximately U.S. $1,250) for IAA members; 142,000 ptas. for non-members, and 55,000 ptas. for accompanying persons.
