First Data Corp., which employs about 2,000 people in Colorado and was ranked No. 4 on the ColoradoBiz Public Companies list last year, was acquired by private-equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (commonly referred to as KKR) is a New York City-based private equity firm that focuses primarily on late-stage leveraged buyouts.
