Washington - DB Chris Massey (hamstring), DB Roc Alexander (shoulder), FB Zach Tuiasosopo (ankle) and P Garth Erickson (hamstring) are questionable. TB Rich Alexis (thigh) and QB Cody Pickett (ankle) are probable.

Keep an eye on: USC linebacker Dallas Sartz - This time, Grootegoed isn't even here, so Sartz knows he'll go every play. USC fullback Whitney Lewis - Could this be the game he makes an early appearance? USC defensive end Frostee Rucker - With Omar Nazel wearing a cast on his dislocated dis·lo·cate

thumb, Rucker becomes a vital contributor. USC tailback Reggie Bush - Was last week an aberration or can the explosive freshman put back-to-back games together? USC linebackers Lofa Tatupu and Melvin Simmons - They better not get hurt, because the Trojans' depth is questionable with Grootegoed out. USC cornerback Marcell Allmond - Someone gets the unenviable task of defending Washington's Reggie Williams, and Allmond figures to be the likely candidate.

under coach Keith Gilbertson, the Huskies stunned Oregon State 38-17 last week in Corvallis. They did it largely behind receiver Charles Frederick, who caught nine passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns along with an 86-yard punt return. Quarterback Cody Pickett seems to have regained some confidence, passing for 285 yards last week.

Injury update: UCLA - CB Matt Ware (ankle), TB Jason Harrison (knee) and C Mike McCloskey (ankle) are out. DT Rodney Leisle (shoulder) is probable. Arizona State - OL Tony Aguilar (knee) is questionable.

Keep an eye on: Bruins QB Matt Moore - He is making his third career start and first since being injured in the season opener. The Hart High of Newhall alum is 8 of 15 for 82 yards, with an interception and no touchdowns. He has played seven possessions for the Bruins, and five of them lasted three plays or less. UCLA cornerback Keith Short - He is making his second consecutive start in place of Ware, but Sun Devils quarterback Andrew Walter is much more accomplished than California quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Sun Devils LT Andrew Carnahan - The redshirt freshman will match up with Bruins sack-master Dave Ball. Carnahan has played well lately but will be challenged by Ball, who leads the nation with 11 1/2 sacks. Ball also needs one sack to tie the UCLA career mark. He has 25 1/2. Bruins DT Rodney Leisle - He will start, but with a bad shoulder he might not be able to play much. He absorbs a lot of double teams to free Ball on the outside. UCLA RGs Paul Mociler and Kevin Brown - Mociler is the likely starter, but his poor play forced the coaching staff to move Brown, a freshman, from the defensive line.

Arizona State update: After an awful start, the Sun Devils are playing better on the offensive side. Walter, touted by the school as a Heisman candidate, threw for 1,029 yards and seven touchdowns in his past three games. He led a fourth-quarter comeback to beat North Carolina North Carolina, state in the SE United States.
