To go camping, you need more than what nature can provide.

Camping requires equipment - tents, flashlights, backpacks, hiking boots, sleeping bags, rain gear, tarps, cold-weather clothing, canteens and cooking gear.And this gets expensive.

So, Adventure 16 Outdoor & Travel Outfitters, a retail store with three locations in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. , is asking for donations of new or used camping gear to enable low-income kids to spend time in the great outdoors.

The nonprofit program, called Donate-a-Pack, already has provided nearly 1,000 daypacks, backpacks, tents and sleeping bags to 19 organizations in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California.
