 Special Olympics Special Olympics

International sports program for people with intellectual disability. It provides year-round training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type summer and winter sports for participants.
 during the seventh annual Tip a Firefighter Day.

Firefighters will wait on tables from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Greenhouse Cafe restaurants in Lancaster and Palmdale.

The restaurants are at 1169 Commerce Center Drive in the Target shopping center in Lancaster and in the Antelope Valley Mall The Antelope Valley Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Palmdale, California.

Opened in September, 1990, its buildings take up around 1 million square feet (90,000 m²). Its physical main building, parking lots, and ring road businesses encompass an area a bit less than 0.

All tips will go to support the Antelope Valley Special Olympics programs, which provide athletic training athletic training Sports medicine The practice of physical conditioning and reconditioning of athletes and prevention of injuries incurred by athletes. See Athlete, Athletic trainer.  and competition year-round in 10 sports. The program also organizes social events for mentally handicapped youth and adults.

Last year's event raised more than $3,500.
