It was discovered in 1542 by Spanish explorer Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, and eventually became part of the Rancho El Conejo land grant by  and the remainder of Ventura County into the appropriate main sections of the newspaper.

The change will allow readers to go to a single location for a comprehensive report. For instance, all local, regional, national and international news will appear in main News. All business news will be in the Business section, all sports in the Sports section Noun 1. sports section - the section of a newspaper that reports on sports

Since many stories and events cross city or county lines, this change allows the Daily News to provide readers with a comprehensive regional package in each area by centralizing cen·tral·ize
