Summer camp counselors from Camp Kinneret and Sunny Skies day camps in Agoura Hills volunteered to spend Saturday visiting the homes of their former campers to collect used, but good quality, toys and clothes.

The goods will go to MEND, short for Meet Each Need with Dignity, a Pacoima-based charity serving low-income and homeless families in the northeast San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

``It's more than just getting together; we're actually doing something good,'' said Matt Derin, 19.

Camp Kinneret Director Harold Gordon sent letters to the parents of last summer's campers asking them to donate toys, books, educational CD-ROMs, car seats and clothing that their children had outgrown.

So many parents responded that, to carry all the goods, Gordon figured he would need eight school buses, which were donated for the day by Atlantic Express Atlantic Express may refer to:

``This is also for our campers,'' said Sunny Skies Day Camp Director Jeff Salzman. ``This is for the children to recognize and to make a difference for kids who don't have the toys and things that they have.''
