TNT'S OVERACTED WESTERN FABLE DOES NOT ENGAGE.Byline: David Kronke TV Critic YOU CAN UNDERSTAND why Patrick Stewart This article is about the actor. For the American soldier, see Patrick Stewart (soldier). For the actor who is sometimes credited as "Patrick Stuart", see James Patrick Stuart. Patrick Stewart would want to film a Western adaptation of Shakespeare's ``King Lear'': It offers plenty of opportunity to chew great chunks of scenery, plus he gets to trot through vast scenic vistas on a horse besides. But if said project, ``King of Texas,'' is directed by Uli Edel, worst known for his campily awful Madonna thriller ``Body of Evidence,'' and for allowing his performers to rage and bellow bellow one of the voices of cattle. Usually refers to the arrogant call of the bull used to announce territorial rights. Abnormalities of the voice include hoarseness as in rabies, or continuous repetition as in nervous acetonemia. Stewart, who also serves as the film's executive producer, stars as John Lear, who, as the film opens, divvies up his ranch among his daughters, portions depending upon how unctuously they fawn over him. Conniving Susannah (Marcia Gay Harden Marcia Gay Harden (born August 14, 1959) is an Academy Award-winning American actress. Biography Early life Harden, one of five children, was born in La Jolla, California, daughter of Beverly (née Bushfield), a housewife, and Thaddeus Harold Harden, a Texas ) and her sidekick Rebecca (Lauren Holly) lay it on thick and are amply rewarded; earnest Claudia (Julie Cox) thinks it unseemly, so she's cut off. Big mistake, and on so many levels. All this unspools in a fashion so bald you half expect the word ``FABLE'' to flash in neon letters across the screen. Stewart's not the only performer to pile on the bluster: Holly and Patrick Bergin are similarly over the top, and Roy Scheider shuffles so much in his role you think he's playing an ancient tap dancer. But only Harden really gives Stewart a run for his money: As she betrays her padre, bellowing bellowing see bellow. bellowing continuously in bovine rabies, continues until pharyngeal paralysis supervenes. bellowing soundlessly , ``I!
