TM Forum Appoints New President.


MORRISTOWN, N.J. -- The TeleManagement Forum, the world's leading organization dedicated to addressing the management challenges for new generation communications and content services, announced today that Martin Creaner has been appointed president of the organization. His appointment comes shortly after the Forum board announced a major expansion of the organization's role to embrace the rapidly expanding arena of converged media, entertainment and communications services. Creaner's primary role will be to drive the TM Forum to address the challenges of converged services and continue the Forum's rapid expansion both internationally and across new industry sectors.

"We are rapidly seeing the rise of new service and content players that have additional management needs to those of fixed and mobile communications," said Creaner, "and while we continue to be the premier industry association for the telecoms OSS/BSS industry, we are broadening our agenda to embrace the needs of the newer media, internet and content companies. Creaner has been with the TeleManagement Forum since 2001 as chief technology officer (CTO (Chief Technical Officer) The executive responsible for the technical direction of an organization. See CIO and salary survey. ), and has been responsible for a major expansion of the technical work of the Forum, including the successful launch of the mass market standards initiative, Prosspero. He will retain his role as CTO for the time being. Prior to joining the Forum, Martin held a number of executive positions with BT and with Motorola, where he led the 2.5G and 3G OSS Oss (ôs), city (1994 pop. 62,141), North Brabant prov., S Netherlands; chartered 1399.
