Those little nuggets Nuggets can refer to several branches of interest:
James Kenneth "Jim" Hahn (born July 3, 1950) is an American politician from the Democratic Party. He was the Deputy City Attorney (1975-1979), City Controller (1981-1985), City Attorney (1985-2001) and Mayor of Los Angeles, California nearing the maximum $2.2 million, but with his opponents in good shape heading into the next three months of fund raising. Hahn's report showed he has his own group of Hollywood supporters, with $1,000 donors including the likes of Rupert Murdoch, Quincy Jones, Richard Zanuck and Wes Craven. Actress Ruta Lee donated $500. Hahn also reported a $1,000 in-kind contribution from Dallas Cowboys Former Assembly Speaker Bob Hertzberg did well also, collecting donations from the likes of entertainment execs Haim Saban, Sherry Lansing and Dino DeLaurentis, as well as political heavyweights such as former Arco Chairman Lodwrick Cook and Orange County real estate developer Donald Bren. The reports also showed how spread out the Los Angeles political establishment is. Billionaire Eli Broad contributed $1,000 to Parks' campaign, while former Mayor Richard Riordan and his wife, Nancy Daly Riordan, each contributed $1,000 to Hertzberg. Riordan's daughter, Kathy, gave $1,000 to Hahn. The campaign of Councilman Antonio Villaraigosa did not reflect such heavy hitters, but he did draw heavily on support from legislators with whom he worked while speaker of the Assembly. Some people just don't get the message. John Edgell, who was successfully sued by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger this year to stop production of a bobblehead doll, tried to deal directly with the governor last week. This time, it's with a variation on a theme: ``Governor Girlie girl·ie also girl·y adj. Informal Featuring minimally clothed or naked women typically in pornographic contexts: girlie magazines. Man,'' a bobblehead bearing the likeness of Schwarzenegger, wearing a pink dress and high heels. At least it's not the get-up he had for ``Total Recall,'' which could be the theme of any new court action. Republican Senate candidate Bill Jones might as well be shouting in the wind these days as much as anyone listens to him. His latest gambit is a plea to the press to try to force Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., to appear in another debate before the Nov. 2 election. The two had debated in August at the Wiesenthal Center. ``All she tells us is that she is too busy, that the Senate is in session, that she doesn't have the time,'' Jones spokeswoman Chris Rubin said. ``It just seems to us that if Arizona Sen. John McCain can debate his opponent and if President Bush can have three debates with (Sen.) John Kerry, she could agree to one more debate with us before the voters of California. ``She's campaigning all over Northern California and we'll go meet her anytime, anywhere,'' Rubin said. Boxer is far ahead of Jones in public opinion polls - with the most recent Field Poll showing her with a 16 point lead. Numerous calls to the Boxer campaign were not returned.
